Hanaway rare: Dublin etc. Ir. Ó h-Ainbhith. See Hannaway and Hanway.
Hanevy rare: Midlands. Ir. Ó h-Ainbhith, ainbhioth = storm. Woulfe mentions a sept of Meath which seems appropriate to this name. See Hanniffy and Hanvey. SI.
Hannaway Quite numerous: mainly Ulster and Louth. Ir. Ó h-Ainbhith. See also Hanevy and Hanniffy.
Hanniffy Quite numerous: Galway-Offaly. Ir. Ó h-Ainbhith, ainbhioth, storm. Woulfe mentions a sept in Meath which may relate to this group. The leading sept was in Ulster, see Hannaway.
Hanvey Quite numerous: E Ulster. Ir. Ó h-Ainbhith, ainbhioth, storm. A sept of Oriel, also in Down. See Hanway, Hannaway, Hanniffy. SGG.
Hanway fairly rare: Dublin. Ir. Ó h-Ainbhith. See Hanvey.
Henvey rare: Belfast, Dublin. Probably as Hanvey, q.v.
Hinfey rare: Down etc. Apparently Irish, the basic name has not emerged. Hinphey in Dublin.
Ó h-Ainbhith Hanvey: líon beag: Oirthear Uladh. Clanna i (1) Oirghialla, (2) Uíbh Eathach (an Dún) Brí: ainbhioth = stoirm. Tá Hannify ortha i nGaillimh. SI & SGG.
