Moraghan	rare: Dublin etc. Ir. Ó Murcháin, dimin. of Murchadh (sea-warrior). See Morahan.
Morahan	Quite numerous: Galway-Mayo-Roscommon. Ir. Ó Murcháin. There were two septs: one in Offaly, the other in Leitrim. This name has been contracted to Moran in many cases. See also Morrin and Murrin.
