Scally numerous: Roscommon-Sligo, W Meath-Offaly, Antrim etc. Ir. Mac Scalaidhe (crier). The name has been associated with W Meath. Woulfe identifies it with Skelly and Skally but these are "O" names. Mod. Mac Scalaí. SGG, SGA &MIF.
Skally rare: Cork. Ir. Ó Scalaidhe. Probably a variant of Scully, q.v.
