Bhí a ndún-áras ag Dún Libhse. Bhíodar ina dtiarnaí ar an Rúta gur bhuaigh Somhairle Buí Mac Domhnaill orthu i 1567. Fuair Tiarna deireannach an Rúta, Ruairí Óg Mac Uighilín, bás i 1634. D'oirfeadh an mana Hiberniores Hibernicis dóibh. Fréamh: ón ainm Hughelin, díspeagadh dúbalta ar Hugh. Litriú nua: Mac Uilín.
MacQuillan numerous: Ulster, especially Antrim-N Down-E Tyrone. Ir. Mac Uighilín, a double diminutive of Hugh: adopted by the Mandevilles when they settled in the Route (Antrim) in 13 cent. IF.
