Lonergan numerous: E Limerick-Tipperary-Waterford-Cork etc. Ir. Ó Longargáin, lonn-garg, strong-fierce. A sept who resided beside L. Derg, they were forced out after the Invasion and settled in S Tipperary. They had a number of distinguished churchmen. IF.
