Surname Dictionary

Kirwan numerous: all areas except Ulster, especially the South East, Louth. The Irish is Ó Ciardhubháin, ciar-dhubh = jet black. An erenagh family of Louth and later one of the "Tribes of Galway". IF & SGG.
