Farley Quite numerous: Armagh, E Tyrone, Belfast, Dublin etc. An English name usually standing for Ir. Ó Faircheallaigh (Farrelly) from Cavan.
Farrelly numerous: Cavan and adjacent areas etc. Ir. Ó Faircheallaigh, Ó Fearghaile. If the former is authentic it could mean "great churchman" - appropriate for a co-arb family. Another sept, located in Limerick, became Frawley, q.v. IF & SGG.
