Ó Coise Quish: cuíosach annamh: Luimneach-Tiobraid Árann. Bhain siad le Laois fadó. Tá Mac Coise ann chomh maith. Brí: giolla coise, b'fhéidir.SGG.
Quish fairly rare: E Limerick-Cork-Tipperary. Ir. (1) Mac Coise, perhaps from cos, a foot i.e. a courier. (2) Ó Coise, who were a sept of Laois. They are now indistinguishable. See also Mac Quish. SGG.
