Surname Dictionary

Mundy fairly rare: Donegal, Cavan-Monaghan etc. Ir. Mac Giolla Eoin (devotee of St John). The pronounciation Ma' Gioll' Uain produced the impression Luan(= Monday) and one of the most bizarre examples of anglicisation.
