MacCavana fairly rare: Belfast-Antrim etc. Ir. Mac an Mhanaigh (son of the monk).
MacCavanagh Very rare: Belfast. Ir. Caomhánach. Agnomen of the Mac Murroughs of Leinster, for which see Kavanagh. The form here may have arisen from confusion with Mac Cavana.
