Hannan fairly numerous: Limerick and generally. Ir. Ó h-Annáin, annadh, delay, possibly. This name is more usual as Hannon.
Hannon numerous: all provinces, especially Connacht and N Munster. Ir. Ó h-Annáin, annadh meaning "delay", perhaps. Originally of Limerick and a substitute for Haneen in Connacht.
