Surname Dictionary

Hanahan Ir. Ó h-Annacháin. Probably a synonym of Hannigan, q.v. The name does not appear in current telephone directories, but has been previously recorded.
Hannon numerous: all provinces, especially Connacht and N Munster. Ir. Ó h-Annáin, annadh meaning "delay", perhaps. Originally of Limerick and a substitute for Haneen in Connacht.
