Finnerty numerous: Galway-Mayo-Roscommon and generally. Ir. Ó Fionnachta, a sept of Síol Muireadhaigh (O'Connors etc). They resided along the River Suck. There was (and is) another family in Kerry. Woulfe's derivation of fionn+sneachta (snow) is accepted. The name appears as Fenton in Munster.MIF.
