Devaney fairly rare: Down and scattered. Ir. Ó Duibheannaigh. Also as Ó Duibheamhna although this should be a separate name. There is confusion with the Devenneys of Donegal-Derry and the Devanes of Connacht. MIF & SGG.
Devany fairly numerous: Connacht generally. Ir. Ó Dubhánaigh. This name also appears in the Midlands and Limerick.
Devenney fairly numerous: Donegal, Derry, Tyrone etc. Ir. Ó Duibheannaigh. This form is used in the Donegal Gaeltacht but MacLysaght considers it should be similar to the Connacht name Ó Dubhánaigh.MIF & SGG.
Diviney fairly rare: Galway etc. Ir. Ó Duibheanaigh. Cognate with Devanny, q.v.
Ó Dubhánaigh Devaney: líonmhar: Connachta & rl. Sloinne Conallach é seo ó cheart ach tá meascadh le Ó Duibheannaigh, q.v.
